A Little about DNLM

What we believe...

DNLM believes the most important thing is to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Though there may be differences of beliefs between denominations and Christians, there are certain truths clearly presented in the Word.

  • God is called by many different names because of the different dimensions of His personality, but God is one. [Deuteronomy 6:4]
  • Jesus Christ is the one true, and only, Son of God.
    • His virgin birth [Matthew 1:18-23]
    • His sinless life [Hebrews 7:26, 1 Peter 2:22, 1 John 3:4-5]
    • His miracles [Acts 2:22; 10:37-38]
    • His substitutionary death on the cross [2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 2:24, 1 Corinthians 15:4]
    • His bodily resurrection from the dead [Matthew 28:1-6, 1 Corinthians 15:4]
    • His exaltation to the right hand of God [Acts 1:9,11, Philippians 2:9-11]
  • The Bible is infallible and the authoritative rule of faith and conduct for mankind. [2 Timothy 3:15-17, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21]
  • The Church is the body of Christ. [1 Corinthians 12:12-27]
    • The Church has a three-fold purpose:
    • To evangelize the world. [Acts 1:8, & Mark 16:15-16]
    • To worship God. [1 Corinthians 12:13]
    • To equip for ministry. [Ephesians 4:11-16, 1 Corinthians 12:28, 14:12]
  • There will be a final judgment in which the dead will be resurrected and judged according to their works. [Matthew 25:31-46, Romans 2:1-9]
  • The only means of salvation is Jesus Christ. [Acts 4:12, & John 14:6]

What we aim to accomplish...

He Holds the Keys, our first production, was performed in August of 2010. This very simple performance touched many and set the "stage" and vision for what DNLM is to become; with souls being saved that night.

DNLM wants to influence audiences and artists by the telling of stories through the performing arts; be it through well-known plays or musicals, a well-known story, or music written from history, and the Word. We perform both family friendly and biblical based productions. We are committed to the use and development of theatre and all performing arts as powerful tools to explore life issues and how they can be met through our faith.

In the future, we will provide different performing arts classes and workshops, as well as provide after school programs to keep children and young adults off the streets and in a safe environment, providing a place for their expression.

Though DNL is intended to be a fun and creative outlet, we want to also teach the importance of discipline and commitment in the things that you do while celebrating the gifts and talents of each performer. Each production will be treated as a "mission" of its own, and a commitment is not only expected, but required.

What we expect...

We want to promote a family bond by encouraging togetherness toward a worth-while common goal, providing a fun environment, while achieving excellence. We will present quality family entertainment while striving to become a positive cultural force and contributing to the community's aesthetic and moral imagination.

Prayer is the key to our success. Being punctual for opening prayer will be a necessity to set the pace for our successful rehearsals and productions. Any production large or small can be a crazy time filled with fun, learning and laughter, yet there can also be times of great stress, frustration and tears. Forgiveness will be the key to maintaining that family relationship we are striving to build.
